Step types
Generic palette of operations or data manipulations that are utilised to create a process
A step type relates to the description of an action to be performed by the software in the prosecution of the process. Standardised step types are available for selection from a drop down menu and include instructions such as “import text data into a worksheet”, “sort data”, “send an e-mail with a spreadsheet attached”, “compare values in a spreadsheet”, “copy data from one spreadsheet to another”, “sort data”, “export data to a PDF document”, “run a macro” and many more.
Steps
The individual operations that make up a process
An automatic process is created by breaking down the manual process into discrete elements called steps. Each step is a specific instruction relating to an action to be applied to a standardised step type. These steps are linked or chained together by the Process Designer in such a way that they emulate the manual process being replaced. Much of this is accomplished through point-and-click or drag-and-drop operations. Process Designers can also create custom input, output and control screens for any process.
Multiple sources
Feed data in a wide range of types to and from many sources and destinations
SolveXia’s Process Automator is able to accommodate many widely used types of data including Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, FoxPro and Project as well as text and XML files. SolveXia also works with companies to create step types that can access other proprietary forms of data.
