The Name SolveXia

The name SolveXia is pronounced as “sol-vexia”. This is derived from the words “Solve” and “Xia”. Each describes a component of our business rationale:

Solve – we aim to solve our clients’ problems, especially as adherence to Solvency II becomes a necessity.

Xia – the xia philosophy is variously defined and explained as follows:

“a Chinese philosophy similar (but not identical) to the chivalrous code of European knights” – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xia

“The main identification of a xia is a code of conduct and an ideology of honour and social justice dedicated to serving the good of the people” - http://www.fact-archive.com/encyclopedia/Xia_(philosophy)

“The concept of xiá however underwent many transformations through the centuries. By the end of the Qing dynasty it has come to represent an ideal hero who wielded power by force, but could withhold it if necessary, and more importantly, possesses a sense of moral justice.” - http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com
